In all regions of Senegal, CICODEV focal points have been active in the field in order to help communities from remote areas to understand the essential rules to respect in order to prevent COVID 19 , which are as follows:
- Wash your hands frequently with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer;
- Avoid gatherings,
- Avoid close contact (keep a distance of one metre) with any person, whether they are coughing or not,- Stay at home as much as possible and only go out when necessary,
- Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth;
- Follow respiratory hygiene rules (cover your mouth and nose with the fold of your elbow or with a handkerchief in case of cough or sneeze, then throw away the handkerchief immediately);
- In case of fever, cough and difficulty in breathing, call the Ministry of Health's numbers so that authorized personnel can come and do the necessary follow-up,
- Stay informed and follow the advice of your health care provider and national and local public health authorities on how to protect yourself and others from COVID-19.
