M. Amadou KANOUTE, the Executive Director of CICODEV, gave an interview on Trade FM radio where he spoke on various issues related to the COVID 19 pandemic, notably, how the national authorities are dealing with this crisis, its correlations and its impact on the health system. The budget allocated to this sector has decreased by 0.4% whereas it should have increased by 2%; the necessary assistance to be provided to households; the necessity to ensure efficient and transparent distribution, but also the importance of ensuring that this assistance meets the expectations of both citizens and organisations. Also discussed were the question of whether or not isolation is appropriate and recommendations for good communication in crisis situations; especially from institutions such as the WHO.
