The Coalition of Civil Society Organizations on the Global Financing Facility (COSC/GFF) announced on Sunday its decision to “set up a rigorous response task force” against Covid-19, whose third wave is “advancing,” it said, “three times faster than the second and with an even more dangerous virulence (…).
This Task-Force “involves all civil society actors in the field of health,” she said in a statement following the webinar she organized Friday on the theme: “What responses from civil society to the 3rd wave of Covid-19.
According to the press release, “the Task-Force aims to synergize the resources of civil society so that all member organizations review plans and budgets to put in place an emergency program to assist the country’s health system.
He emphasizes that “in this system, an important place is reserved for youth and women in the response strategies, especially at the community level”.
The coalition says it is “aware that the solution to community cases must come from a community response”. In this regard, it “urges the State of Senegal” to “value the work of civil society by further demedicalizing the response”. In the same way, it encourages the State to “recognize and rectify the fact that the health system is not limited to the Ministry of Health and Social Action alone”.
It also invites him to “ensure that the messages intended for the population are not divergent or conflicting, but rather focused and coordinated”, and to “get out of the slack by adopting strong measures while adopting the attitude of a “good family man”.
It also urges the public authorities to “centralize and analyze the feedback (…)” and “review its new policies for the management of Covid-19 cases and think about a bold vaccination strategy aimed at immunizing at least 60 to 70% of the population”.
It “calls for an awareness of the entire community to contain this third wave and avoid that Tabaski is an opportunity to spread the virus in the regions.
The civil society wishes that the Senegalese who are in Dakar and who plan to go to spend the TABASKI in their locality can protect themselves in mask and in hydroalcoholic gel ”Yobaalu Tabaski”.
