Coronavirus is an infectious virus that is highly contagious, with a high capacity to spread rapidly.
Consequently, the channels for raising awareness and informing communities about prevention methods and good practices are being adjusted accordingly.
Following the example of several organizations, CICODEV, in its prevention strategy, has integrated this dimension by including audio-visual broadcasts on its privileged communication channels.
This is the case with community radio stations in several localities in Senegal, where CICODEV’s focal points host programmes to share information and enable everyone to be informed, understand and adopt the appropriate methods and attitudes, but above all to adopt the recommended behaviours. These radio stations not only offer a service close to the people, but also constitute democratic spaces that allow grassroots communities to express themselves and be heard.
