At CICODEV’s discretion, a group of civil society organizations established the
Citizen’s Network for Budget Transparency (CNBT) in Senegal.
The CNBT’s mission is to promote citizen participation in formulating, implementing
and monitoring public policies and to strengthen specific initiatives aimed towards a more participatory, transparent and effective monitoring and management ofSenegal’s budget.
The aim is to influence these policies to implement the fulfillment of basic social
needs
The network is based on the principle that the programs and efforts of civil society
organizations will remain unsuccessful, if there is no special interest in public
budgets; including generating, efficiently using and controlling the resources
necessary to finance and ensure the implementation of government programs.
