Non oil producing countries, Senegal depends more than 95% of the external supply of fuel to meet its energy consumption (PROGEDE).
Reducing energy dependence will be through demand management and energy efficiency; but especially by the promotion, development and adoption of renewable energy. This is the alternative that promotes CICODEV Africa, through its program to ensure sustainable and equitable access of disadvantaged consumers to energy.
Eventually, through advocacy strategies, training and awareness sessions in urban, peri urban and rural, CICODEV Africa’s actions aim to influence the energy policy of Senegal and encourage behavior change consumers for low fuel consumption, responsible and sustainable energy.
