Amadou Kanoute, presented the preliminary results of a study on the effectiveness of international instruments such as the FAO voluntary guidelines on responsible Governance of tenure of land, fisheries and forests in the context of national food security.
The study focuses on the case of mining industry in Koudiadiène in the rural community of Cherif Lo, Thies, Senegal.
The conference debates under the title: "Bridging the gap between policy and practice: international principles and large-scale land acquisitions in Africa" brought together European parliamentarians, civil society and NGOs as AFSA (Alliance for Food Sovereignty in Africa) and OXFAM.
